Bishop Linwood Nesbitt's Bio
Bishop Linwood Nesbitt is the Senior Pastor and overseer of
the New Covenant Holiness Church located on Dawson Street, Wilmington, NC. He
has preached and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to his NCHC family for past
20 years. The great people of New Covenant appointed him to this post after the
passing of his father who was pastor of NCHC prior to his tenure. He immediately
sought the Lord on the future of this growing congregation, and the Lord gave
him the vision to build a new sanctuary. The doors of this new church opened on
April 29, 2001 with much praise, and worship, and with all the glory going to
God! This was only the first vision that came to pass in the year 2001. On
August 25, 2001, Pastor Linwood Nesbitt was consecrated to the prestigious
position of Bishop.
Bishop Nesbitt has always had a heart to win souls to the
kingdom of heaven. He believes in the great commission that he is to go into the
entire world and preach the gospel, so he goes where the Lord sends him to
preach the news of Jesus Christ. This hunger to expand the kingdom of God has
taken him from the streets of Wilmington, NC to teach and minister as far away
as Jamaica, the Ivory Coast. And Liberia. Bishop Nesbitt's work in foreign
ministry is extensive and is making a direct impact in lifting up the name of
Christ. He sends monthly donations and goods to many missions and supports the
missionaries in the mission field who desperately depend on his patronage. New
Covenant also provides financial support to two orphanages: one in Jamaica and
the other in Liberia. These orphanages provide care, shelter, and food to many
needy children. Bishop Nesbitt also supports a school in Liberia, educating our
future Christian leaders.
Bishop Nesbitt wrote his first book: I want What God Wants:
The Anointing Is a Seldom Traveled Road to Wealth
Which came out in the summer of 2007. So, he is now an
author and writer, adding to the many gifts that God has blessed him
with.
Bishop Linwood Nesbitt has earned his Bachelor of Arts
Degree with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry from the International Bible
College and Seminary. He also has a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Covenant
Christian College. Bishop Nesbitt has his Masters of Arts in Christian Education
from Word of Faith Christian College. His most recent educational achievement is
his Doctorate of Ministry in Theological Studies from Word of Faith Christian
College & Graduate School. Bishop Nesbitt established and presides over an
alliance over 102 churches under the umbrella of Covenant Christian Faith
International Fellowship. The Alliance started with (3) founding churches and
has grown under the direction of Bishop Nesbitt to 102 churches in the US,
Caribbean Islands, Liberia, and the Ivory Coast. This fellowship also provides
support for its Pastors and their members, and all fellowship churches world
wide that are in need of the CCFIF and its services. Bishop Nesbitt has been the
prelate of these great churches for the past 10 years. Bishop Nesbitt is also
the Vice President of the Greater Harvest International Fellowship, Inc.,
which has its headquarters in Raleigh,
NC. He has also serves as a Vice President to the Bishop in West Africa. Most
recently, since April 2007, Bishop Nesbitt has been an active Emergency Services
Chaplain. He also is the founder and President of Covenant Christian College,
and accredited Bible College where students may earn their Associate or
Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies. He is the founder and CEO of CCEDI, Inc.
a faith based nonprofit community services organization that does many wonderful
works in the city of Wilmington. Bishop Nesbitt is also a part of the COGIC
family; serving under Bishop C.E. Anderson and the North Carolina 2nd
Jurisdiction of the COGIC.
More important to Bishop Nesbitt, than any other post, is
his role as husband and father. He has been married to Pastor Eria Nesbitt for
the past 33 years. God has blessed this beautiful union with two daughters,
Regina (Andrew) granddaughter Daijah, and Natalie (CJ) .
Bishop Nesbitt loves the Lord and governs his home with
that same kind of undying love and heartfelt commitment.
"Consider what I
say: and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. "II Timothy 2:7
Pastor Eria Nesbitt's Bio
Elder Eria Nesbitt was born in Winnabow, North Carolina. At an early age, she moved to Wilmington. She grew up in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). At a young age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Later, she moved her membership (along with her family) to Holy Trinity Holy Church. Nesbitt remained there until shortly after marrying her husband, the great man of God, Bishop Linwood Nesbitt and became a member of New Covenant Holiness Church (NCHC).
The title of Elder means overseer and shepherd. Being an elder means you have been selected by God to care for the spiritual growth of the flock. Likewise, you are charged to lead that flock to Christian maturity. As elder, she accepted the task and commitment to be a shepherd, guardian, leader, and example for all believers.
Elder Nesbitt says that she must constantly seek the help of God, through prayer and study of his word, so that her service will bring honor to Him and His son, Jesus Christ
In Acts 14:23, Paul and Barnabas appointed elders to every church. Having prayer with fasting, they commended them to the Loard in whom they believed. Paul charged the elders of the church in Ephesus to "Be on guard for your flock, among which the Holy spirit has mad you overseers "shepherds".

In 2007, she received her Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies and her Masters Degree in Pastoral Ministry both from Word of Faith Christian College and Graduate School (WFOC). In 1976, she was blessed in marriage to Bishop Linwood Nesbitt. Elder Nesbitt thanks God for the past 36 years. God has blessed them with a wonderful family.
When God has a special work to do, He selects special people. Elder Nesbitt thanks God for considering her faithful and calling her to this service.
Elder Nesbitt says that God has done so much for her and has brought her from such a long way in such a short time. Therefor, she knows and appreciates how blessed she is to know God as her personal Savior. Elder Nesbitt's desire is to be used by God in whatever way he desires to do so......that He will be glorified!
Whatsoever her hands find to do, she will do it with all her might!!
